Notes from the weaver
I learned to weave and spin in 1982 at the Old Graue Mill in Hinsdale,
Illinois. I currently spin on an Ashford Traditional and weave on an old
(c.1940) Sears(?) loom. I am a spinner who weaves. I do not have the
patience or time to learn to knit, and crochet is too slow. I am also a
mom of 3 boys between 4 and 4 mo. I teach at the Coastal Center for the
Arts on St. Simons's Island, GA. The art center is 49 years young this
year and well known in most art fields (except fibers -- I hope to change
that somewhat) I currently teach spinning & pottery. I hope my
instructions are sufficient -- space limitations and my limited computer
knowledge (to enlarge the draft) were working against me.
I plan on using this for scarves for Christmas presents.
Some may have tabby between each repeat (thread harness 1,4).
There is 2 of the first repeat section, then 2 of the next, then the
first again. I will be using 8/2 cotton or finer or wool of simular
size. 1 per dent in 12 dpi.
Tromp as writ.
